About Lairon College Preparatory Academy

Lairon College Preparatory Academy is one of 16 schools in the Franklin-McKinley School District. In 2010-2011, our school name changed from Seven Trees Elementary School to Daniel Lairon Elementary School in recognition of our former principal, Daniel Lairon, who was a great contributor to our school and local community.

Built over 44 years ago, Lairon was modernized in 2000. Each classroom was refurbished, the office was renovated, and the cafeteria facilities were updated. Lairon College Preparatory Academy is a 4th-8th grade school with 13 classroom teachers, including one 4th-6th grade special day class teacher and one 7th-8th grade PE teacher. The support staff includes a school principal, a part-time Speech Therapist, a Student Support Specialist, and a Resource Specialist Teacher. The staff also consists of: five para-professionals for our inclusion classes, two para-professionals that support our special day class, and one para-professional that supports our resource program.

Our school is implementing BEST practices as a means to change the tone and culture of the school into a positive one where students are rewarded for following norms. As a community school, we welcome community partners and parents in assisting us to teach our students to the highest potential.

Franklin-McKinley School District policies support and ensure that all Lairon College Preparatory Academy students will succeed.
