Lots of familiar and new faces came to check out all the wonderful things happening at Lairon last Wednesday night at Lairon's showcase. Current and potential parents and students got to see the work that both Lairon teachers are students are doing. The show kicked off with a performance from the Lairon band and music students. Next, parents were wowed by a presentation from Mr. Martinez's 8th grade students as they presented their projects on social justice. Parents then got to explore the Lairon campus and check out the different classrooms and PBLs or electives and extracurricular activities offered at Lairon. The 4th grade team discussed curriculum and had parents and students engage in engineering and coding activities. The 6th grade teachers discussed science camp and sports programs available to Lairon students. In addition, the 7th grade teachers presented on gardening at Lairon and the CyberPatriots program. Furthermore, teachers highlighted the art, music and special education programs offered. Lastly, families were presented with the plans for the new Family Resource Center that will be opened at Lairon. In sum, it was a wonderful and informative evening that showcased all the great things happening at Lairon. Go Bulldogs!
